Bonnie Nadley - A Bandstand Dancer
Bandstand May 1961.jpg (433237 bytes)

This is a picture of Bonnie Nadley sitting on the bleachers in May of 1961. She is the girl sitting in the first row, far left with the big hairdo. Although not a regular,   Bandstand Bonnie,  which is now her nickname,  was  a dancer on the show and went there as often as she could in 1961. In this picture you can see the girls in the front row wearing sweaters over their Catholic School uniforms. The little white collar showing over the sweater became very popular. Girls all over America were buying blouses with the "Bandstand Collar" look.   American Bandstand was responsible for creating many new dances and also many new fashion trends.
