The Bouquets

Like the Butterflys, another Red Bird girl group to gain a little attention was the Bouquets. The gals had recorded an obscure little number on the Vest label, but Red Bird had something a little different planned for them. In 1965 they recorded a Motownish single called "Welcome To My Heart" that was produced by former Motown staffer Robert Bateman.

The group dissolved shortly afterwards, but in the late sixties another group, possibly the same, recorded as Tootie and the Bouquets. Their "The Conqueror," was a valiant attempt at recapturing the Girl Group sound. Recordings on Mala and Cameo/Parkway continued to bare the groups' name. If they continued to tour, they didn't pop up at any of the usual places.
